Runescape Private Server

Definition

A RuneScape Private Server, also known by RSPS, a user-made gaming system that is based on the original game RuneScape'. Unlike the original game which is managed and managed by Jagex, a RSPS can be managed by individuals, friends, or small online teams.

Although a RSPS may look the same as real RuneScape in appearance, it is often not nearly as good. The manager (in RSPS-scene, usually called 'owner') can modify the game to your liking. Many people prefer RSPS to real RuneScape because it is easier to get high levels and collect rare items. Some RuneScape private server managers create custom RuneScape items that are not available in real RuneScape.

As you might have guessed, RuneScape is a separate entity from RSPS. You will need to create new accounts per RSPS and you cannot use your RuneScape information.

Making your own

It's fun to create your own RuneScape server, but it is not as simple as it used to be.

To create a stable RSPS, you will need to know at least the basics about a few programming languages like JavaScript, C#, PHP, and database languages such SQL.

There are many trusted resources that can help to create your own RSPS. Sometimes, you can even get a starter kit to help you get started.

Locating a RSPS

Visit a 'toplist to find a game you want to play.

The most popular toplist has been RuneLocus RSPS List since 2007. There are many other options, but Top100Arena and TopG are the best. GamesTop100 is also available.

Revisions

As long as the client and cache are available, a private server can be configured to fit any revision. Information will often be released within a source, and many renditions will follow, as is the case with revisions 562 or 718. There are many frameworks that cover more revisions than these, but these are the most common. These revisions aren't currently being used as servers.

Legal issues

RuneScape Private Servers are in a gray area regarding legality. Although the server's use may be in violation of EULA and copyright laws; however, Runescape Private Servers are not required to be used for copyrighted purposes.

Playing and operating private servers is at your own risk. Although private servers are almost always safe, hosting private servers can be a legal concern.
